There is a small paid parking lot at the trailhead. There is additional pay parking down the road if the main lot is full. I believe parking at the elementary school further down the hill (20 minute walk) is free.

First hike of the season and it's a steep one.
A perfect early season hike to whoop me into hiking shape.
Myself, Lila, Chloe, and Masaki heading out to hike up the highest peak in the North Shore mountains.
My strategy for hiking this summer; start south and work my way north as the snow melts.
Brunswick is short, only 12 km, but steep with most of the elevation gain at the end.
The first several kms follow a dirt road, which is also the same trail as the popular Tunnel Bluffs.
The trail eventually splits leading you to steeper slopes of Mt. Brunswick.

As you ascend bright blue hues shine through the forest revealing Howe Sound. The views of the many islands in Howe Sound are amazing.
Nearing the top there are a couple scramble sections and the rock is loose scree in many places. You must ascend and descend small humps on the ridge in order to reach the true summit.
From the top views of all the surrounding mountains appear. I was very excited to see my old stomping grounds of Mt. Baker and North Cascades National Park.

You can also see: Olympic NP, Vancouver skyline, the Lions, Tantalus, Garibaldi, Black Tusk, Robie Reid. Iconic mountain views in all directions with Howe Sound lining the western skyline.

The true summit is the next bump past where the benches are. I’m not sure why the benches are placed not at the true summit.

A beautiful hike and well worth the climb.
