Brandywine Meadow

A couple weeks ago Lila and I decided to hike up to Brandywine Meadows. We were in our 1995 GMC Sierra 4wd and decided to attempt to drive to the upper parking lot.
The road was very rough. And two km from the trailhead our temp gauges were high and our coolant hose had melted. Luckily we were able to rig the hose back together (tuck tape and zip ties) and filled the radiator with water as a temporary fix. Luckily we made it off the FSR road and back to town. In fact, we still haven't fixed it and I'm driving it daily.
For my 30th birthday I wanted to give Brandywine another shot.
Because we were unable to hike after this we set back out for Brandywine Meadows this time parking at the lower lot. The road is doable in most vehicles, but still a rutted FSR road.
The trail from the lower lot climbs very steeply through the forest. The trail is marked with orange flagging on the trees.
Note: if you are parked at the lower lot, on the descent, make sure that you stay right. It is easy to follow the main path left and end up at the upper parking lot.
The meadows were absolutely stunning and the wildflowers were popping off. So many beautiful creeks lined with wildflowers. It took us about an hour from the car to the meadows.
Next time I want to camp on the summit of Brandywine Mountain. The views of Mt. Fee from the top look incredible from pictures i’ve seen. I’d also like to do the alcoholic traverse which connects Brandywine Mountain and Brew Hut. Typically done in three days, off trail travel, but no glacial travel.
